New Playground

It was nice to see the new playground in use this evening ( Friday 15 th July ). A lot of children seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Bridleway Canal Side West

A planning notice has appeared on the M62 motorway bridge, on the north side of Canal Side West.

It appears to be an application to make Canal Side West between M62 bridge and Landing Lane bridge a bridleway!

playground

I notice that they were very quick to pull the park in newport to bits, but why has nothing been done to it for the last two weeks, no wonder its going to take so long and according to my deeds for my house, that area that the parish council spent so much money on is listed as a childrens play area and now NO one can use this area as the metal fencing still has not been removed, After asking around no one like's what has been done and think its a total waste of our money, and its only been done because some people close by the play area didn't like the children playing on it, now they only hav

Speeding traffic in Newport

A heavy goods vehicle demolished the pelican crossing outside the school Tuesday pm ( 17th May ).

Could have been a lot worse!!

Flower tubs

I believe responsibility for watering the tubs rests with the residents. Is this true?

If so, do the residents know?

The tubs on CSE are very dry!

Humberside Police Streetbeat

This has no entries since December 2010.
Is it still in operation?

THE Wedding!

I have no interest in the royal wedding, however I'm sure others do.

I drove through Holme on Spalding Moor yesterday and there were loads of flags along the main street.

Apparently they have organised a free do for children in the village hall too.

According to Facebook, Chris Worrell is involved ( Chair of Parish Council ) although I do not know if this is a private event or organised by the PC!

What is Newport doing?

Applications regarding the Landfill

There is a Parish Council meeting on the 27th April 2011 7pm at the School again the planning applications for the Landfill site are for discussion.

Empty canal

There is so little water in the canal, the fish are learning to walk on their fins!!

Yet they are still running it off!

Landfill site ...really???

Hopefully Newport Parish Council will be opposing the extension of the so called landfill site. There are plenty of reasons for the opposition brought up at last nights NPC meeting:-

1. The sheer number of HGVs ( many are juggernaughts ) passing through the village and up Thimblehall Lane. Several in convoy. 150 in one day!!
2. Speeding of said vehicles which rattle our house as they pass through Main Road.
3. The size of the vehicles, some are enormous.
4. Many of the HGVs loads not netted, depositing rubbish all over the village.
