Our lovely village school in the snow

Would like to share a few photos with you.
Hope you like this one of our beautiful little school taken on 2 January 2009.

It would be nice to have some more up to date photos in the gallery.

Having viewed the website for the first time it is looking good with lots of potential.

It would be good to see the next agenda for the Parish Council meeting up to date.

Would also be great to have the minutes from Parish Council meetings posted promptly after each meeting. Is this possible?

Speeding through Newport Village

Even though we have now got a speed limit of 30 through the village (about time), i'm still suprised to see that it used like a race track, even more so in the mornings from around 4.30 to 5.30. I feel that the police should be here more to make our village safe for all of us even more so our children. some mornings i have seen cars and even trucks come through at break neck speeds and dont even seem to slow down when the 30 signs light up, MORE needs to be done!!!

New Brickyard Project - an Update

About thirteen years ago when I joined the parish council (I left about three years ago), work had started to create the original Brickyard Project. I soon became aware that residents were concerned about the development. Their concerns centred on the location, too close to the deep water ponds and canal: the remoteness of the location; parents would be apprehensive about allowing their children to play there and it would attract vandalism and drug and alcohol abusers and the cost of maintenance; meaning it would either fall into disrepair or cost a fortune to maintain.

double yellow lines on Meadow Lane

Is it me or are people just lazy by not parking their cars on their drives. Most houses on Meadow Lane and Oak Drive have enough space to park their vehicles off the road, yet they persist on parking on the roadside. This makes driving hazardous as they appear to park on the bend or the junctions of the other drives leading off.Maybe its time to consider putting double yellow lines on these junctions

Are Hull and District Anglers Breaking the Law?

I hear they are collecting money for fishing on the Canal and not giving it to the Environment Agency. Is this a case of obtaining money by deception under the Theft Act??????
