Bridleway North of Seavy Carr Lane

For about 14 years now, our wonderful East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been struggling with various requests to remove obstructions to the Bridleway north of Seavy Carr Lane (beyond Canal Side East and north of the motorway).

The owners of the land have run rings round the council and frustrated their every move, which is a pity because it is one of the best brideways in the area.

Fishing in Market Weighton Canal

Now it appears the Parish Council are to be responsible for issuing tickets for fishing the canal would it be too much to expect that the canal will be improved?

Perhaps the Parish Council could be persuaded to part with some of our £65,000.00 to create some permanent fishing pegs. The Council could pay for materials and I'm sure some volunteers could be found ( free fishing for a year! ) to build them. This would help prevent random digging of the banks for access, and also direct anglers to suitable fishing pegs causing minimum nuisance to residents.

Newport Village Network

http://newportvillage.mixxt.com/

I have set up a Newport Village Network blog site to work in tandem with the Newport Village website. It can be used to share photos, start discussions on topical issues, create events, tell stories about the village in the past, and create groups for shared interests.

Click this link http://newportvillage.mixxt.com/ to have a look and sign up as member. Its quick and easy to do.

Note - this is aimed to support the village website. " www.newportvillage.org.uk " is still your main source of information from the Parish Council and village issues.

Would like to share a few photos with you.
Hope you like this one of our beautiful little school taken on 2 January 2009.

It would be nice to have some more up to date photos in the gallery.

Having viewed the website for the first time it is looking good with lots of potential.

It would be good to see the next agenda for the Parish Council meeting up to date.

Would also be great to have the minutes from Parish Council meetings posted promptly after each meeting. Is this possible?
