Newport village

Friends of Newport School are a group of parents who help to raise funds to provide 'extra curricular' events, outings, new equipment/books etc for the children (and staff) of Newport Primary School.
We are volunteers who organize fund raising activites throughout the year, mainly aimed at the school children and their families. Over the last year we have held a bingo evening, Halloween party, quiz night, Valentine disco and Talent Night. Events for the whole village to enjoy included the Summer Fair and Prize Bingo. We also run a lottery scheme for staff and parents which can raise over £100 each term.
The funds raised from these various events have provided the following items and treats for the school and children -
20 new computer screens, M & M Production of 'The Railway Children', new phonic books, memory card for video recorder, skipping ropes, cycling proficiency course and a Year 6 Leavers Party as well as contributions to playground equipment and repairs and new library books.
All parents, grandparents, staff and volunteers are very welcome on our committee as we always have plenty to do and need lots of help, donations and event participation to help the children of Newport School get the most from their time there. Contact the school if you wish to join us.
